The Samsung Spinpoint F3 is over four years old and one of the oldest drives that we have included in our group tests. The reason for its inclusion is that it was once one of the best hard drives available and we have seen more user benchmarks for this drive than any other. The price of this drive has fluctuated significantly over its epic four year life span and current prices do not reflect the great value for money that this drive once represented. In today's market the F3 struggles to keep up with the group leaders both in terms of performance and price. With an effective speed rating of 116 MB/s the F3 is one of the slowest 1TB drives in our group test. There are clearly newer and better alternatives available at this time. [Jan '14 HDrivePro]

When it works for the first month it will most likely work forever ,or until you pack it with so much JUNK that it slows to a crawl! Then it lays in a box forever and you buy a new SSHD or a SSD!

This is oldest drive I have at home, with SMART information telling me that it has been running for 58653 hours (6.6 years) with temp range of 13-53 degrees C, 78 power cycles, and no raw, seek, ecc, UDMA, or pending errors ever. This drive turned out to be excellent quality.

HDD has been spinning for 951 days now and it has 0 errors. The write/read speed is still around 110/140. Only thing is, that it's louder as it's really old now.
