Average Bench: 73% (117th of 1015)

Based on 7,986 user benchmarks.  Model: HGST HDN724040ALE640

The HGST Deskstar NAS is one of the few NAS drives to feature a 7,200 RPM rotational speed. This relatively high rotational speed helps the 4TB Deskstar NAS achieve a 4k read/write speed of 1.14/2.2 MB/s. 1.14 MB/s is actually the highest 4K read speed I have seen to date on a 4TB drive. In terms of sequential read/write speeds the Deskstar NAS clocked in at 161/144 MB/s which are also a reasonable set of scores. Overall the Deskstar NAS scored an effective speed of 116 MB/s which despite being 14% below the group leaders, is still second place for a 4TB capacity drive. With 4TB of capacity and an above average performance profile the HGST Deskstar NAS represents very good value for money. [Mar '14 HDrivePro]

cannot ask for more. the only NAS drive in its class with an active sensor to make sure the data is accessed accurately even with vibrations. I love the HGST drives and agree with backblaze that they are significantly better than the competition.—Sep '14

We are system arcitects, first we have had seagates at our client storages, now we are HGST Premium Partner. For me is the importest factor, that we have the same damaged disks from few seagate clients, than the hole hgst clients. So this Product is much more stable than the others, that the importest factor for me. Because a damaged disk could slow down the hole storage, if the damage is not seen in the Smart Protocol... Thats a very important fact that we use HGST now, and only HGST. Thanks.
