If you are specifically looking for a 2TB Hard Drive, the Barracuda is both a solid performer and offers reasonable value for money. That said, It probably makes more sense to go for the 3TB version which, thanks to economies of scale, represents significantly better value for money. With the 3TB Barracuda you get 50% more storage and approximately the same performance for just 20% more money. [Sep '13 HDrivePro]

Good

I have been using this for my pc for about three years, and it has performed well, for me anyway. I game quite a lot, and I do some light editing, and it doesn't slow down a lot, though I would like to get an SSD in the future as it takes AGES for Windows to load up. Other than that, it works great, and the 2TB is defiantly well enough for me.

it fails a lot. it's the worse hdd. i've got a raid with 6 of this HDD, and in the first year fails 3 disks.

Have been using it for almost a decade and it is still going strong. Would love to upgrade to an ssd but for the price this HDD has served me well.

My HDD is constantly making regular clicking noises when idle. This is really irritating and it drives me crazy. I already cleared every thing stored on it and formatted it but the issue is back

Die ST2000DM001 und die ST3000DM001 sind meiner Meinung nach die besten Festplatten (hätte es nicht gedacht). Beste Kombi überhaupt! SSD 120gb + 2tb/3tb HD als "D: Platte" für den Rest!

Poor

This HHD came in my pre-built system new in the middle of 2018 but it's history goes back to 2011 with just 64MB Cache and is rather clunky in terms of speed especially in the write department, I use it as my secondary drive holding my media content and has me looking for faster alternatives. On the bright side it does operate very quietly, something that usually is compromised once you start getting into larger HDD's from the rotations generated.
