The Samsung Spinpoint F3 is over four years old and one of the oldest drives that we have included in our group tests. The reason for its inclusion is that it was once one of the best hard drives available and we have seen more user benchmarks for this drive than any other. The price of this drive has fluctuated significantly over its epic four year life span and current prices do not reflect the great value for money that this drive once represented. In today's market the F3 struggles to keep up with the group leaders both in terms of performance and price. With an effective speed rating of 116 MB/s the F3 is one of the slowest 1TB drives in our group test. There are clearly newer and better alternatives available at this time. [Jan '14 HDrivePro]

Average average bench

This is oldest drive I have at home, with SMART information telling me that it has been running for 58653 hours (6.6 years) with temp range of 13-53 degrees C, 78 power cycles, and no raw, seek, ecc, UDMA, or pending errors ever. This drive turned out to be excellent quality.

Have more pieces of this and and they are very good. MB on PC where these were originally used went recently brain dead but this drive still goes on. One clocked over 6000hours power on time. Currently using two in NAS for it already two years and have had only limited issues...

Can not complain. Running still after 6 years of usage and did not have one single error. However, over the time it got louder and louder and for these days standarts a bit slow, so switching it out to a newer one is not a bad idea.

HDD has been spinning for 951 days now and it has 0 errors. The write/read speed is still around 110/140. Only thing is, that it's louder as it's really old now.

Why does UserBenchmark have a bad reputation on reddit?
Marketers operate thousands of reddit accounts. Our benchmarks expose their spiel so they attack our reputation.

Brands make boatloads on flagships like the 4090 and 14900KS. We help users get similar real-world performance for less money.
Why don’t youtubers promote UserBenchmark?
We don't pay youtubers, so they don't praise us. Moreover, our data obstructs youtubers who promote overpriced or inferior products.
Why does UserBenchmark have negative trustpilot reviews?
The 200+ trustpilot reviews are mostly written by virgin marketing accounts. Real users don't give a monkey's about big brands.
Why is UserBenchmark popular with users?
Instead of pursuing brands for sponsorship, we've spent 13 years publishing real-world data for users.
